from: Finding Credit Repair Secrets
There are a lot of people who for whatever reason seem to constantly have credit problems that require work to overcome and yet, they are always looking for a quick fix. These people don’t usually find a quick repair for their credit and as a result they are living in bad credit.
It costs a lot money to live a life with bad credit. Having bad credit can cause one to pay anywhere from ten percent to fifty percent more than someone who lives with good credit. If people would look and see what they are doing they would stop and take note of the situation that they are in. Everybody would like to know some credit repair secrets that would fix things quickly and with little effort.
The problem is that there are no quick fixes, no easy way to make things right. It takes time and effort to fix credit problems. There are ways to fix credit problems that don’t take as long as letting time fix the problems. These aren’t really credit repair secrets but they may be unfamiliar to many people who are dealing with negative items on their credit report.
Some Credit Repair Secrets
One thing that can be done to help repair people’s credit report is to take note of the items that are being negatively reported to the credit agency. People can begin by challenging these items to the credit agency. The credit agency will go directly to the creditor to verify the information.
The creditor has thirty days to respond to the questioning. If after thirty days the creditor has not given verification, the credit agency will remove that negative listing from people’s credit report. This can be done for every negative posting on the report. It may help sometimes but a lot of creditors will respond with verification. Another credit repair secret is to go straight to the creditor and demand verification by paper and not over the computer.
Creditors are required by law to have the paperwork to back up verification. Many may get angry about this when people demand a copy of the verification but they must comply. If they don’t have it then they must quit reporting the information to a credit reporting agency. Another credit repair secret is to have an attorney write all of the letters to the credit agency and the different creditors. Creditors are less likely to fool with the law when an officer of the court gets involved.
